Projects

Kiwanis Park

The Kiwanis Club of Utica-Shelby Township sponsors Whispering Woods Park off of 21 Mile Road. Over the years, our monetary donations and volunteering hours have dramatically improved the park.

This includes wonderful amenities such as its baseball field(s), playground and pavilion areas. We’ve also hosted many community-focused events at this location, including our Bicycle Safety Rodeo.

Adopt a Family Program

Every year our Club adopts several families in the area and provides them with food and gifts around the holidays. This event is a favorite for those who participate as you get to meet the families you shop for.

Some people need extra help, especially around the holidays. To make someone’s holidays brighter is a joy that cannot be described. The lasting impression this leaves is incredible to say the least!

Blessing Box

Each month our club helps replenish food and other items for the Blessing Box at Stony Creek Church in Utica. This partnership allows our members to give directly to those in need within our community.

Most families come to these boxes looking for non-perishable items. We also leave puzzles, books, toilet paper, etc. for those who may be without. These boxes are a great, easy way for community members to give back.

Bike Helmet Giveaway and Safety Fair

Our Club has partnered with Kohls Cares, the Beaumont Hospital System and the Shelby Township Police and Fire Departments for several years, providing free bike helmets and safety education.

For children of Utica-Shelby Township and surrounding areas, these tool are critical to ensure our children play safe all-year-round. Join us as we help gain access to the necessary tools to make sure our communities are protected.

Signature Fundraising Events

The club hosts 4-6 signature fundraising events each year in which the proceeds help support several of our community initiatives, including the installation of wheelchair ramps, providing food and monetary support to underserved families.

We work with several other charitable organizations that share in our desire to make the world a better place one child and one community at a time. See our highlighted Non-Profit Partnerships for additional details.
